Simon, since you need to traverse through the data before you put it
into your database, you can pass each point through the geocoder
before it gets stored away.  If you are using Google Earth, you can
just pass it a big data dump of addresses and it will plot it without
geocodes.  Of course, this doesnt help you the next time you need
geocodes.
