For now, yes.  We're unlikely to get a work around in before the new year
given vacations and the like.  If you build libRETS yourself, it is easy to
modify it.  (And we always accept patches.)

But if we can confirm that encoding the = is the issue, there is nothing
that can be done now short of you making your own build.
