Yes, librets by default uses a User-Agent of libRETS/version such as
libRETS/1.1.6.

Many MLS vendors are of the opinion that making someone change their
User-Agent is some special second form of authentication, therefor libRETS
must allow you to change it.  (This is also why ezRETS allows you to change
it as well.)  In my opinion, all this does is make it harder for a server
vendor to know what product and version you're using and help the client
vendor debug it.

In any case., I'm glad you solved it.

Just out of curiosity, from which language are you accessing libRETS?
